I began to notice first that the graphical elements in Pro Tools began to slow down. Everything sounded clear, even on full mixes with 3-5 plugins on a track, the graphics were crisp making visual metering useful, and artifacts and AAE errors were unheard of, a far cry from the cheap HP laptop I was using for the past 3 years. And up until a month ago that’s exactly what it did. I am aware this isn’t quite ideal however with plans to upgrade the memory in the near future and keeping in mind the fact that many people ranging from peers of mine at music school to professional engineers who use pro tools for a living all said 16 is ideal but 8 plays nice with Pro Tools most of the time. It is the lowest tier version of the laptop offering 8GB of RAM with a i5 processor. Hello, In January I purchased a Dell G5 15 laptop to use primarily to run Pro Tools and Reaper.
